Friday, September 18
Bower-Gunnill-Dalton VFW Post 2267 and Auxiliary will hold their annual Buddy Poppy drive on Friday, September 18 which also is POW/MIA Recognition Day which is held annually to remember and honor American prisoners of war and those missing in action. VFW members and their Auxiliary members will be at Kwik Trip, Walmart, the Richland County Bank lobby and Richland Family Restaurant for distribution of the Buddy Poppies. The Buddy Poppy is a registered trademark of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and is distributed by donation. Donations are collected and utilized for Veterans UNMET needs program through our local VFW Post 2267.
Partners of Richland Hospital will be holding a Rummage Sale on Friday, September 18 from 7:00 to 2:00 and Saturday, September 19 from 8:00 to Noon in the Lobby Shoppe at the Richland Hospital. Cash or check only for rummage sale items. Money raised support Partners of Richland Hospital.
The 169th Vernon County Fair continues through Sunday, September 20 at the Vernon County Fairgrounds in Viroqua. Friday is Youth Day. The Little Britches Dairy Show will be held at 12:30 and the Badger State Tractor & Truck Pull will be held at 6:30. Saturday a Livestock Sale will be at 6:00 and at 7:00 will be a Demo Derby. Sunday at 1:00 will be Harness Racing. Each day enjoy Mr. Ed's Magical Midway, stage shows, animals, exhibits, food and more. Daily admission is $10 for Adults 16 & older, $5 for Children 6 to 15 and 5 & Under are admitted for free. Friday, for Youth Day, Children 12 & under are admitted for free. The 104th Ithaca School Fair and 2026 Homecoming will be held Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19. On Friday Entry Day for Non-Animal Exhibits will begin at 2:00 and the Bulldog Block Party featuring Co-ed Volleyball, a Bags Tournament, Carnival Games and Concessions begins at 5 :00 behind the school at the patio. Saturday a Run/Walk starts at 7:00, Pork Sandwiches will be served starting at 9:00, the Little Britches Show will be at 9:30, the Parade steps-off at 10:00, at 12:30 will be Mascot Races, a Kindschi Pedal Pull will be at 12:30 and the Homecoming Football Game vs Brookwood will Kick-off at 1:00. Break bread with community members at a free community meal each Friday at 5:30 at the Other Door in Viroqua, Vernon County’s Drop-in Center.
Richland Center Parks & Rec will be hosting a Burlap & Barnwood's Hat or Tote Burning Workshop Friday, September 18 at 6:00 at the Richland Center Community Center. Learn how to trace and burn a design into your very own hat or tote. Class lasts approximately 3 hours, book your spot today before it fills up. Guys and Gals age 12 and up are welcome. The Brewer Public Library in Richland Center will offer a workshop on assembling an autumn table centerpiece on Thursday, September 24 at 5:30. The 2026 Hill & Valley Fall Exploration Tour will be held two weekends, Saturday, September 19 & 26 and Sunday, September 20 & 27. Tours of the Old Coumbe {comb} House and Grounds will be held Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20 at 3:00 each day at the Crosscurrents Heritage Center near Blue River. See, hear, touch, feel, smell, and even taste history on this 90-minute guided tour led by Coumbe descendant Ben Moffat. Tours are capped at eight people. Kickapoo Area Food Pantry will be held Saturday, September 19 from 9:00 to 11:00 and Monday, September 21 from 4:00 to 6:00. Please sign in at the Viola Municipal Building located at 106 West Wisconsin Street. Volunteers will load your vehicle. The 22nd Annual Driftless Area Art Festival will be held Saturday, September 19 from 10:00 to 5:00 and Sunday, September 20 from 10:00 to 4:00 at Beauford T. Anderson Park in Soldiers Grove. It will feature over 80 visual artists showcasing paintings, photography, drawings ceramics, fiber arts, sculpture, jewelry, woodworking and mixed media. Meet artists, watch demonstrations and purchase artwork from the creators. The event will also feature live music and there will be food trucks. Admission and parking are free. Otter Creek Lutheran Church, 4809 County Road P, Highland will be holding its annual Autumn Auction on Saturday, September 19. A lunch will be served from 11:00 to 12:30, an auction preview will be at 12:30 and the auction starts at 1:00. Past auction items have included produce, jams/jellies, local Hereford beef, baked goods, antiques, tools, housewares, crafts and much more. Tickets for the lunch are $8 for adults and children under 6 eat for free.

St. Mary Parish Fall Festival and 4th Annual Car Show will be held Saturday, September 19 at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Car Show will be held from 3:00 to 7:00, Mass will be at 4:00, The Jammers will be performing live music from 5:00 to 8:00, Tuition Drawing will be at 7:00 and at 8:00 Festival Drawing Begins. A Pulled Pork Meal with Baked Potatoes and Coleslaw will be served at the Knights of Columbus Food Stand. Other activities include Children's Games, a Bean Bag Tournament, a Euchre Tournament, a Silent Auction, a Chinese Raffle and a Bake Sale.
The Annual Muscoda Area Chamber of Commerce Fall Opener will be held Saturday, September 19 at Events at Castle Rock near Muscoda. Doors will open at 5:00. Food stations will be open from 5:00 until 7:30. A Silent Auction and Raffles begin when doors open and a Live Auction will be held after the meal. Tickets, which includes the meal and event, are $50 and can be purchased online at eventsatcastlerock.com or from Muscoda of Chamber of Commerce members.
An Old Time Family Dance will be held Saturday, September 19 from 7:30 until 10:00, on the second floor of Schmitt Woodland Hills in Richland Center. There will be slow dances, fast dances, and square dancing. Requests will be taken and there will also be karaoke. Admission is free. Free will offerings will be accepted. Sunday, September 20
The fall service at the Brown Church that was scheduled for Sunday, September 20 has been cancelled due to construction on State Highway 130. The bridges on both the north and south side of the church are closed to traffic.
St Patrick Church, Highway G, Loreto is holding their annual Fall Festival Sunday September 20. Mass begins at 10:15. Open pit BBQ beef will be served buffet style or drive thru from 11:30 to 2:30. A Paddle Wheel, a Silent Auction featuring two sets of two tickets to the September 24 Green Bay vs Atlanta game and the live televised Green Bay game will be going on in the pavilion.
Learn about the only warehouse Frank Lloyd Wright designed during a tour of the A.D. German Warehouse in Richland Center. Tours will be held each Sunday through October 3 at 11:00, Noon, 1:00 and 2:00. Tickets can be purchased in advance at adgermanwarehouse.org or they can be purchased at the door.
Immaculate Conception Church in Boscobel will be holding their 69th Annual Charcoal Broiled Chicken Barbecue on Sunday, September 20 at the church. There will also be Free Bingo at Noon. a $5,000 Raffle Drawing at 3:30, an Auction, a Bean Bag Tournament, Kid's Games, Meat Paddles, a Petting Zoo and more. The Richland County Historical Society invites you to tour the Akey School Museum Sundays, through September, from 1:00 until 4:00. Akey School is located on County Highway TB, midway between Twin Bluffs and Gotham. There is no admission fee however, donations are gratefully accepted.
The Buena Vista Lions Club Car Cruise will be held Sunday, September 20 from 5:00 to 8:00 at the Buena Vista Bicentennial Park in Gotham. Great cars, great fun and great friends come together. There will also be a concession stand serving food and drinks at the event.
