Deputies with the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office handled a series of incidents requiring law enforcement and emergency response throughout the area.

Response to a disabled vehicle near the intersection of State Road 23 and State Road 130 led to an OWI-related arrest. Following an investigation at the scene, 21-year-old Ian Hofkes was taken into custody for Operating with a Controlled Substance (1st offense). Hofkes was subsequently transported and booked into the Iowa County Jail.

Early in the morning at 2:12 AM, the Iowa County Communications Center dispatched deputies to a report of suspicious activity along the 5800 block of County Road YZ. The resulting investigation led to the arrests of Edgar Ramirez Juarez, 40, and Jose Gollolarte Rosas, 42. Both individuals were charged with Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Trespass to Dwelling with an Attempt modifier and were booked into the Iowa County Jail.

Later in the day around 11:58 AM, emergency services responded to an automated iPhone crash notification in the 1600 block of Marian Court. Units from the Mineral Point Fire Department, Mineral Point EMS, Mineral Point Police Department, and an Iowa County Deputy arrived to evaluate the situation. Responders confirmed that no vehicular crash had occurred; rather, an unattended mobile phone was found lying on the ground. No injuries were reported.
