River Valley Volleyball heading to state, no school at River Valley on Friday
There will be no school for River Valley students on Friday, November 6. The district has called a school closure to give students, staff, and community members the opportunity to travel and support the River Valley Girls Volleyball team as they compete at the WIAA State Tournament. Concerns regarding staffing availability and anticipated student attendance also contributed to the decision.
The fourth-seeded Blackhawks (31-6) earned their trip to the State Tournament with a thrilling five-set victory over Cambridge in the Marshall Sectional final. Making their fourth overall State appearance and first since 2005, River Valley will take on top-seeded Stanley-Boyd (35-5) in the Division 3 semifinals. The match will be held at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, November 6, at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
The community is encouraged to show their Blackhawk pride and make the trip to Green Bay to cheer on the team. Additional details will be provided regarding a potential fan bus for students and staff interested in attending.
