A Lancaster man was transported to the hospital following a single-vehicle crash on the Dubuque bridge
A Lancaster man was transported to the hospital Tuesday morning following a single-vehicle crash on the Dubuque bridge that temporarily backed up traffic along Highway 151.
According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 5:18 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, to reports of a collision in the southbound lanes of Highway 151.
Investigators report that 50-year-old Gerald Hauck of Lancaster was driving southbound in a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu when he attempted to overtake another vehicle. During the maneuver, Hauck lost control of his car and crashed into a concrete traffic barrier.
Dickeyville EMS transported Hauck to a nearby hospital in Dubuque for treatment of possible injuries sustained in the impact. Authorities later cited Hauck for failure to maintain control of his vehicle.
The accident reduced southbound traffic on Highway 151 to a single lane for a duration while emergency personnel worked to clear the wreckage and debris.
