FEMA announced the approval of nearly $1 million in funding for Public Assistance projects in Wisconsin
Today, FEMA announced the approval of nearly $1 million in funding for Public Assistance projects in Wisconsin to support state and local recovery following recent severe storms and flooding. This federal funding is aimed at restoring essential public infrastructure and assisting local communities in their long-term recovery efforts.
FEMA disburses these funds directly to state, tribal, and local entities, which are best positioned to direct resources where they are needed most. The approved funding covers critical infrastructure repairs, public building restoration, road work, and reimbursement for emergency measures taken to safeguard public health and safety during recent disaster events.
Among the primary recipients, the Janesville School District will receive more than $645,000 to cover emergency protective measures implemented during the April 2026 storms. Additionally, over $253,500 has been allocated to the Orfordville Fire Protection District to repair facilities damaged during the same severe weather outbreak.
These awards represent the latest phase of federal assistance provided to Wisconsin communities rebuilding from natural disasters. FEMA remains committed to working alongside local leaders to support full recovery and enhance community resilience against future severe weather events.
